Remote Systems Administrator –Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy Object, O365, Automation  

 

This is a 6+ Month contract opportunity that is okay to be remote. (I think they would love to have someone open to a contract to hire arrangement and be in Minneapolis, but I don’t believe it to be a deal breaker.)

 

Effectively they are looking for someone who has actually moved an on premise data center to a public cloud. (Amazon, Azure, or Google Cloud). They stressed the cloud experience along with extensive automation/Powershell experience.

 

APi Group, Inc. in New Brighton MN is seeking a versatile Systems Administrator to join us full-time to assist us as our business continues to expand.  If you are seeking greater work variety, skills enhancement, and influence equity, consider bringing your systems administration skills (Active Directory, GPO, O365, and Cloud) to our organization.   This hybrid role features traditional systems administration functions along with opportunities in Automation (Powershell), and Infrastructure (on prem storage along with VMware and cloud technologies).

 

In This Role You Will:

 

Cloud:

IAAS in Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS

• Migration Experience
  • Migrating existing workloads (lift and shift)
  • Assisting developers with refactoring (architecture recommendations)
  • Analysis, sizing, and cost estimating is a plus

• Developing ongoing maintenance processes
  • Automating cleanups
  • Creating relationships
    • Tag strategies
    • Resource Group strategies

• Monitoring and troubleshooting these environments
• Azure network design is a plus
• Deploying, configuring, and securing components
  • Storage accounts
  • Virtual machines
  • Backup Vaults
  • Migration projects
  • KeyVaults
  • Web Applications

• IDP with Azure Enterprise and registered applications is a must.

Core Systems Administration:

Security focused - Everything is designed and implemented with security in mind.

Install, upgrade and monitor the Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.

Configuration and maintenance of server hardware.

Implementing and monitoring server security and access.

Plan, recommend and implement changes and enhancements to the server infrastructure.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange versions 2013, 2016 and O365.

Skilled in PowerShell and and other scripting languages

O365 and Azure AD:

Developing licensing and provisioning processes

Implementing security

• MFA management processes
• Conditional Access Policies
• PIM
• RBAC for O365 products and IAAS

Automating provisioning and updating processes

On Premise Active Directory:

 Create and maintain role-based access control strategies

• Create processes for maintaining these in coordination with adjacent teams
• Assist in creating intake and support process for access or resource additions/changes

            Automate processes for move add changes and general maintenance

• Active Directory PowerShell module proficiency is a requirement for this one

           Assist in developing automated provisioning processes for users and resources in planned future projects

 

VMWare:

Create and maintain virtual machine templates

• Replicate resources and templates among disparate clusters
• Update documentation and procedures for deployment

Create relationship and management standards for existing virtual machine infrastructure

Monitor and provide recommendations on performance and capacity

Account for backup and DR capabilities and requirements in the management and changes of our VMware infrastructure

Deploy and configure virtual machines and core VMware functionality

Automate both ESX, VCenter, and Guest based updates and configurations

• ESXCLI and PowerCLI experience are a plus

Requirements:

·        3 – 5 or more years’ experience with Cloud (Azure, AWS, or Google) design, engineer, and management

·        5 – 7 or more years in each of the following areas:

o   Active Directory

o   Group Policy Administration

o   Microsoft Windows Servers/Clients

·        5 or more years of IT Experience with Data Center Hardware/Platforms.

·        5 – 7 or more years with disaster recovery options, implementation, and testing.

                    ·          5 – 7 or more years of VMware experience.

                    ·           5 – 7 or more years of scripting and automation (PowerShell, python, etc.)

·       Proven ability to support the following:   (or 3 – 5 years’ experience with)

                        o   SAN Storage Management

o   Microsoft Office Products

o   Hardware and Software Troubleshooting
