Job Role  : Big Data Architect
Location  : US-Chicago, IL  (100% Remote)  Local would be ideal.
Duration  : 6+ Months Contract
Interview : Phone/Skype
Start Date: Immediately

Experienced data architect with an established background in driving solutions and strategy in a Big Data ecosystem, ideally with Hadoop-based experience.

This position necessitates:
* Strong knowledge of architecture and data integration best practices within a Hadoop-based Big Data environment
* Experience designing logical and physical architectures of Hadoop-based data stores, Data Lakes, data hubs
* Strong knowledge of common Big Data tools, capabilities and technologies such as Apache Spark, Sqoop, Impala, Hive, Kafka and their applicable usage scenarios
* Experience in logical and physical data modeling for a Big Data platform (structural patterns, storage format considerations, etc)
* Strong understanding of common data ingestion patterns for big data: batch, streaming, CDC
* Ability to analyze business requirements and develop data architecture and data integration solution patterns which align with an enterprise data strategy
* Strong knowledge of layout, security and governance best practices relevant to Big Data data stores and data lakes
* Ability to drive tool-selection discussions and processes
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
