Data visualization application experience
Many resumes list experience with Python libraries like Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, MatPlotLib, etc. because these are used by the kind of candidates we are looking for and are in high demand. However, few people have actual experience or the requisite mathematical/scientific skillsets for creating production software using these. Look for a good description of how these were used in actual production apps.
 
Huge data experience, think massive files or terabytes of streaming data. These present unique problems because most hardware cannot process them without carefully designed processes.
Systems design experience, many clients and servers working together. One poorly designed app that isn’t designed with all the others in mind can easily bring the system down.
Python production application creation experience as opposed to python scripting or utility experience
Python app to major database connection experience (MongoDB, Postgres, MySQL, especially NoSQL), If MS Sequel server is listed high on the resume this is probably not the person we want.
A BS or MS in Comp Sci or other indication of formal training in Software Engineering as opposed to someone that just learned Python on the job. BSEE or BSCE doesn’t really cut it.
Web or backend server design experience is mostly a negative as these types of engineers generally do not do the above,
Minimum 5 years’ work experience doing the above (not other programming or software design)

?  This is a Shared Services team
?  Retrieving data from SQL statements and therefore both resources need to have this knowledge of SQL statements

?  Competence in writing clean, bug-free code as per defined standards (appropriate variable declarations, class/method design, non-redundant and optimized code)
