Reports to the Oracle manager for the region. You’ll be part of a line 3 Oracle support team, supporting the migration activities of mission critical infrastructure of Ensono’s clients, delivering a responsive and exceptional support service for client events and requests. Using a best-in-class client service management platform you will effectively be working on client projects, providing solution deliveries to clients on complex environments and infrastructure, and supporting at times our day to day business as usual support activities from our clients. The job entails:

  • Primary role will be to support a large Oracle database migration from one Ensono DC to another
  • Working with clients on issues, requests and project tasks related to the DC Migration.
  • Working proactively and reviewing high level project requirements and deliverables.
  • Working with internal infrastructure teams on the DC migration activities.

You will achieve common goals with our Oracle team to create a positive learning environment where knowledge sharing will help all Oracle associates be able to support the environment in the migrated DC. The position will be challenging with opportunities to work on a broad range of Oracle systems, software and products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for client project initiatives and support for Oracle platforms.
  • Design and enhance, upgrade, or build new client Oracle environments
  • Work closely with clients daily on projects, troubleshooting, or consultations.
  • Perform software installations, upgrades, and patches to Oracle instances and servers
  • Define and maintain Oracle standards and governance while performing all migration activities
  • Utilize industry standard technologies & methods to ensure the integrity & recoverability of Oracle databases and applications.
  • Perform strategic analysis and design of Oracle infrastructure and make recommendations on improvements and/or new systems required to meet business needs and future capacity.
  • Serve as technical resource to business analysts, solutions development and other groups responsible for Oracle application development standards, system design and integration.
  • Ensure Oracle systems remain at operational excellence during infrastructure improvements (hardware/software upgrades server migrations/consolidations, application deployment, etc.).
  • Assist in creating new or maintaining documentation, runbooks knowledge articles and diagrams.

Knowledge

Required

  • Excellent understanding of Oracle Database technology and administration (builds, upgrades, patching, migrations, troubleshooting multiple versions of Oracle)
  • Experience with version 19c and migration/upgrade procedures
  • Excellent understanding with networking terminology
  • Expert understanding of SQL performance tuning techniques including query plan understanding and management, SQL tracing, DB stats, indexing techniques, using AWR reports etc.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the Linux OS
  • SQL and PL/SQL
  • Setup and migration experience with Oracle RAC clusters
  • UNIX Shell Scripting
  • Project Management skills
  • Detailed knowledge of RAC, Grid Infrastructure, ASM, ACFS/DBFS, Oracle GoldenGate, DataGuard, Oracle Exadata, ZDLRA, ZFS, RMAN, expdp/impdp
  • Working knowledge of Materialized Views, SQL Performance Analyzer (SPA), Real Application Testing (RAT), Advanced Compression, Encryption
  • Configuration of OEM and various plugins (OGG, Exadata, etc)
  • Experience with Oracle Veridata
  • Excellent technical awareness of IT server infrastructure
  • Must have excellent communication skills since working directly with the client is a significant requirement of this position.

Experience
