JOB DETAIL

 

 

A home run will be an Oracle DBA that has experience with LIMS (laboratory information management system) who has worked in a forensic or crime lab.  However, this is NOT required.  The candidate will work mostly alone – the only Oracle DBA.  They do have SQL Server databases, but already have folks to support those.  Most of the candidate’s interaction will be with a couple infrastructure guys. 

 

This position will run through September at a minimum, but most likely extending a couple years.  This is working Monday thru Friday, 9-5 (may flex on hours if needed).  They are looking for someone to start ASAP!!!  Candidates must be able to pass a background check.  Max rate is $45-47 per hour (no flexibility). The address is 401 E Street SW in Washington, DC (metro is probably the best option).

 

Here is the actual job description:

Functional Responsibility: The Technical Support personnel will provide Oracle database administration for the Horizon LIMS. Duties in include daily, monthly and annual maintenance scripts; running queries to produce data sets on demand; LIMS administration in conjunction with the LIMS vendor; minimal hardware/software infrastructure support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must have 3-5 years’ experience with Oracle databases and web-based applications; experience with a clinical LIMS is preferred.
