- MS SQL Server Administrator on Azure Cloud
- SQL server administration on Azure
- 5 + years MS SQL Server Administration experience Required on Azure platform
- 2+ years’ demonstrable experience in PowerShell, TSQL
- Strong experience with the Azure portal, Azure PowerShell, ARM templates, and technologies is required. Experience supporting Azure or other cloud-based solutions
- Microsoft stack experience and in-depth understanding of SQL Administration, Configuration, Tuning and Development
- Prior experience of configuring large-scale deployment of the SQL servers in a 24X7 Production, production support, development or test environments is a must.
- Experience with one or more of the following sets of technologies: SQL Profiler, Statistic Utilities, Testing Tools, Red Gate Tools, IDERA, Spotlight, Foglight, SchemaDrift, Power BI, Elasticsearch, Splunk, AppInsights, Git
- Solid understanding of various technologies, systems and practices such as Migrations, DDL, DML, Schema Comparisons, Indexing, Stored Procedures, Backups, Recovery, Scaling, Always On, Optimization, Encryption, Data Compliance, Job Management, ETL, Data Generation, Reporting, Database Source Control
- Previously experienced in a mid- to large-size firm and supporting 2008 R2/2012/2014/2016/2017 SQL environments.
- Fundamental knowledge of data types, data structures, set theory, data access and software and database design patterns
- Experience supporting large scale databases in on-prem and cloud environments
- Knowledge of SQL Server 2012-2019, Windows Server OS, and security protocols for server and SQL environment hardening
- Software security best practices * Scripting language experience: PowerShell
- Experience in leveraging cloud environments (e.g. Azure)
- Experience in logging, performance metrics, debugging, optimizations and defect resolution
- DevOps principles and implementation
- Experience working with Replication, Mirroring, Log shipping, MS clustering on both physical and virtual environments
- Solid understanding of Database concepts
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems, determine root cause and develop solutions
- Ability to follow standards
- Understands the importance of security
- Ability to perform system and/or apps dba duties
- Maintaining data dictionary/data modeling
- Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and other supporting tools is preferred.
- Automation of infrastructure services on Azure is preferred.
- Prior experience in supporting multiple databases applications across the organization is preferred.
