JOB DETAIL

Roles & Responsibility:

 

Migrate databases from mainframe to LUW v11.2, Should have in-depth knowledge on mainframe as well as LUW.

• Ability to Install db2 v11 and db2 connect versions and set up 32 bit /64 bit ODBC connectivity

• Able to set up 4 way High availability and maintain production databases

• Perform code conversion and data compatibility between mainframe and LUW and design LUW databases according to mainframe standards.

• Able to perform multiple table/tablespace/database restoration at any point in time without impacting any other table/tablespace.

• Design database, tablespaces, buffer pools, referential constraints from mainframe to LUW standards without impacting the overall performance.

• Expertise in setting up Splunk dashboard, alerting mechanism to generate tickets.

• Able to configure and set up QMA and Tivoli system for automation.

• Ability to configure and set up  db2 native encryption  and LDAP and have users connect databases through LDAP.

• Ability to set up db2 audit facility to syslog at table level/ db level for specific  operations.

• Ability to understand DSNUTIL, modify mainframe jobs to run on LUW without  data issues.

• Fix data incompatibility issues from mainframe to LUW and ensure no performance issues occurs.

• Knowledge on Cobol programs, JCL,  Mainframe load/unload is must.

• Ability to explain all stake holders on LUW and Mainframe design aspects and fix issues as and when they arise.

• Ability to show case LUW database availability/recoverability  during hard failover, soft failover and Disaster recovery scenarios.

• Upgrade/ apply patches as needed.

• Able to write shell scripts to automate failover alerts for databases, set up monitoring on various aspects like failover, space, CPU, memory, log full, deadlocks, db2 instance down, prolonged reorgs, runstats.. etc

• Should be able to handle queries /changes/ technical challenges as they arose during this project without escalations.

• Should be able to performance tune databases and analyze explain plans in detail and recommend changes to Stake holders with supporting proofs.

• Able to create POC based on unique requirements and drive towards resolutions.

• In depth knowledge  and experience on db2INGEST.
