JOB DETAIL

Job Description

The BSA is expected to work with the Client’s business to develop and write requirements, maintain software documentation, lead discussions with the development team (software developers), perform software UAT and regression testing, and investigate bugs and defects.  The BSA will also work on miscellaneous projects related to the Client’s Engine platform such as data collection, data validation, reporting etc.

Business Analysis

  • Works with the business (field team, subject matter experts) to obtain, write and refine feature requirement for the product (Insights Engine)
  • Works with the product team / development leads to create ‘user stories, acceptance criteria’
  • Engages and coordinates with UI/UX (user interface / user experience) team to generate designs / mock up’s as needed.
  • Present final requirements to developers
  • Supports the Lead BSA on the product team

Testing –

  • Perform QA (quality assurance) of new features developed by the Development team
  • Lead end-to-end testing efforts (regression testing)
  • Organize and lead UAT (user testing)
  • Lead demos of new features during UAT, write test scripts and share testing results

Product Support –

  • Act as level 3 support for investigation of bugs and defects in the Client’s Insights Engine production environment.
  • Log tickets into JIRA (ticketing / tracking system)
  • Manage progress of high priority tickets – with development team and business users

Documentation –

  • Create, update and maintain software design documentation. 
  • Assist with other Client’s documentation needs such as release notes, training documents and other information guides as needed.

Misc. activities –

  • Assist or lead ad hoc projects as part of the overall Client’s program. 
  • This may include data outlier analysis, data validation, Data analysis, and reporting

 

 

Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills (to be able to perform this job):  ______

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, MIS or related field
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in IT
  • Knowledge of basic agronomy concepts, cropland agriculture production systems, and/or soil and water conservation and Prior experience in the working in an Agriculture technology setting (application, team, support)
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to work seamlessly with multiple business partners, both internal and external including offshore web developers
  • Knowledge of Project Management and SDLC methodologies (Waterfall/Agile)
  • Ability to work outside normal working hours with offshore developers
  • Team player
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Data Analysis and deep use of Microsoft office suite of tools

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with JIRA or other agile project tools
  • Prior experience working on a consumer-facing web application
  • Experience working with Power BI
