Short description:
Act as Expert Software Developer for the NYS Department of Transportation to fulfill the duties as described below.
Requested Qualification:
- 84 months experience developing complex applications using Java programming languages.
- 84 months experience programming experience using complex Oracle DBMS (schemas with 20 or more tables) using all versions of Oracle from 11 through 19.
- 84 months experience using PL/SQL to write complex triggers and stored procedures.
- 84 months experience in data modeling for data marts, operational transactional data stores and data warehouses.
- 60 months experience with Oracle Java and Oracle Forms and Reports application/platform modernization.
- 60 months experience with Asset Inventory applications utilizing linear referencing.
Day to day tasks:
- Interact with Agency/business subject matter experts to understand business needs/requirements and ITS teams to determine application / system requirements.
- Participate in the entire software development life cycle, debugging applications and configuring systems.
- Design and document all components of approved application solutions including system integrations.
- Write clean, testable code using Java programming languages.
- Test and debug various .Java applications including perform system testing and development of testing plans.
- Review and refactor code including performing code reviews and suggest changes that will best fit the Agency/business needs.
- Deploy fully functional applications
- Replatform/Upgrade legacy Java v11g and Oracle Forms and Reports v10g applications by working with technical staff to assess existing and proposed solutions.
- Script advanced triggers and stored procedures such as application data processing using tools such as PowerShell, PL/SQL Developer, JavaScript, WebServices/APIs, ETL.
- Perform data modeling for transactional data stores and data warehouses utilizing tools such as Oracle Data Integrator.
- Provide L2 Application Technical support for an enterprise-level distributed MS Windows server environment of Agency/business Commercial – off – the - shelf business software (COTS) applications.
- Use a ticketing system to track and manage incidents, service requests, problems, changes, and release/deployment
