Job Description:
s an active member of an agile team, you will be asked to develop, code, test, debug and document applications systems to achieve the objectives of the provided business requirements. These systems may be new, replacement of existing systems, or significant modifications of existing software modules. On a daily basis you will be asked to apply proven application development methodologies and technologies to produce comprehensive solutions that meet quality, service commitment levels, schedules and budgets. This development will focus on the functionality of an internal tool; with your work meeting quality service commitment agreements. The team is highly interactive and passionate about code quality, performance and in a constant mindset of seeking improvement. You should take a holistic view of software development and have an active, engaging personality to partner with your team for success.
Front-end Qualifications:
- 3+ years of development experience
- 2+ years of professional development work with Angular experience (or similar frameworks, i.e. VueJS)
- CSS Pre-Processors knowledge (SASS, LESS) is required
- Fluency in JavaScript
- Solid understanding of user experience design and concepts
- Solid understanding of Git
- Knowledge of Mocha and Karma testing (or similar) is a plus
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker is a plus
- Basic understanding of relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL (Mongo DB)
- Proactive Problem-solving skills are required
- Knowledge of software development concepts, methodologies and languages based on academic or job experience.
- Knowledge and application of various software development life-cycles and techniques (e.g., traditional, iterative, agile)
- Strong interpersonal / relationship management skills, able to foster remote working relationships within the team, across IT and with business colleagues
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Insurance and/or finance experience a plus
- AS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline (Equivalent application programming or development experience may be considered) is a plus
Back-end Qualifications:
- 3+ years of development experience
- 2+ years of professional development within Spring framework
- Strong understanding of restful API design
- Understating of object-oriented design is required
- Ability to implement unit testing (e.g. JUnit framework)
- Knowledge of application and/or web development concepts and methodologies including languages such as Java, Hibernate and Spring Framework
- Proactive Problem-solving skills are required
- Basic to advanced knowledge of relational database concepts and SQL
- Knowledge of software development concepts, methodologies and languages based on academic or job experience.
- Knowledge and application of various software development life-cycles and techniques (e.g., traditional, iterative, agile)
