JOB DETAIL

Responsibilities:

•Assists to perform day to day database system administration, including:  daily checklists, backup verification, log review, security maintenance, performance tuning (analysis, indexing, updating statistics, etc.).
•Takes on and leads database and/or reporting related projects with varying degrees of complexity.
•Create, update and maintain database objects in coordination with our reporting team.
•Create, review and maintain code in our database systems to optimize, standardize and/or prepare for upgrades.
•Creation, maintenance, updates and troubleshooting of SSIS packages. 
•Perform data/database/process consolidations or warehousing as coordinated with applicable internal staff.
•Upgrade, configure and maintain server and database monitoring software to baseline system performance and proactively identify (and remedy) potential issues.  Resource monitoring and capacity planning.
•Review, test, update and document detailed disaster recovery/business continuity plans for key production SQL Servers (database mirroring, log shipping, replication, clustering) in a VM/SAN environment.
•SSRS administration, updates, troubleshooting and development.
•Performs database backup and recovery as required, including periodic testing.
•Performs periodic SOX testing.
•Reviews, tests, recommends and installs upgrades of database software, including patches and major releases.
•Ongoing review and completion of trouble tickets related to the database systems.
•Train and mentor junior team members on process and technology.
•Performs data analysis and other reporting tasks.  This involves data investigation and cleansing.
•The primary duties of this position occur during business hours, however there is some evening and weekend work related to projects, planned maintenance, and on-call support.
•Administer database replication amongst global servers.
•Documents all procedures and systems.

Qualifications

•The candidate should be someone that’s considered a SQL Server enthusiast. 
•The candidate should have previous leadership experience.
•The candidate should have diverse experience and exposure to MS SQL Server tools and technologies.
•Minimum 5+ years of SQL Server 2000 - 2014 database infrastructure administration experience in an enterprise environment on Windows Server technologies.
•Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
•Proven experience with SQL server performance analysis, troubleshooting and tuning.
•Very experienced with advanced Transact-SQL.
•Individual must have solid experience with complex SSIS projects and packages.
•Extensive hands-on experience with SQL Server high-availability and disaster recovery solutions such as clustering, database mirroring and replication in a VM/SAN environment.
•Must have professional demeanor, positive attitude, and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills in the English language.
•Must be able to work well both independently and as a team member.  Individual should be able to work well with a minimal level of supervision and also have a proven ability to take initiative.
