JOB DETAIL

The client is currently starting a project converting their legacy ERP system to Oracle Cloud ERP.  They will do this in multiple phases, but the first phase will be focused on gl, ap, ar cash management, procurement (basic requisition to po) and financials close and consolidation in EPM  The second phase will have more EPM areas and subscription billing.

The project manager will be responsible for the client side part of the implementation and also work alongside the SI to ensure there part is done.  This will mostly be focused on working with their internal team rather than managing the SI. The project manager must be a "Project Manager by DNA"

The project charter and plan is complete, but as they approach project kick off there is a need for a PM on the client side.  They have around 50 people that are part time involved in this project.  This role is not a program director working with executive leadership and is VERY hands on and in the details of the project.  This role is not a solution architect to help design the project solution, however, is intimately involved with communicating with them.

This needs to be someone to push while also presenting an empathetic approach to engagement of the team responsibilities.  They have a huge risk of over commitment and coming into line with the project expectations of part time resources.  This person will need to be heavily organized to ensure people are aligned and aware of project details and deliverables.

This isn’t someone to just follow the project plan, they would like them to offer insight and guidance of Oracle cloud of what to expect and look out for during the project.  This hands on person will also have advisory skills to be able to help them achieve project success.

They need to be VERY strong at organizational structure related to all things project management.  Currently, they don’t have a mature internal PMO methodology and this person needs to build this into their culture and be the center point of their project management culture leading a large scale project from the client side. This project manager is going to culturally create the Project Management DNA at the organization.

The project is slated to be 100% remote, although some occasional travel could be needed.  This brings challenges aligning 50 people in a project where many of the actions are remotely being handled.  Someone will need to have successful leadership experience managing remote teams.
