Job Description:-
Core Experience
- Facilitate database operationsmanagement best practices for uptime, performance, scalability, architecture and design, HA and DR
- Migration experience of Databases from on-premise to AWS
- Be the key person responsible production Postgres DB running on Aurora RDS in AWS.
- At least three years of experience working in a cloud environment (preferably AWS) Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues of any complexity related to their Postgres environments
- Develop relationships with customers, comprehend and fulfill their needs, and maintain their satisfaction through regular communication and engagement with their environments
- Perform technical work that requires planning and scheduling to ensure the best possible solution is delivered on time
- React on incidents and provide solutions aiming at maintaining environments’ improvements
- Mentor and guide other more junior DBAs, help the team succeed
Technical Experience
- 4+ years of experience working with Postgres databases
- Advanced understanding of Linux OS, Shell scripting, Python
- Deep understanding of systems performance
- Understand automation concept to speed up the work: Ansible
- Advanced knowledge on Postgres internals
- Experience implementing high availability by setting up either streaming replication or logical replication and decoding
- Knows how to optimize queries/schemas
- Knows backup solutions and strategies
- Knows HA solutions and strategies
- Knows proxy usage as it relates to Postgres
