Job Description

• Expert knowledge of the Solaris 10 and 11 operating systems design configuration implementation integration including ZFS file system configuration support, ASM drive configuration for Oracle database, zone configuration, and migration support.

• Strong knowledge of Oracle SPARC and Exadata virtualization platform.

• Strong knowledge of Oracle SPARC hardware management, Oracle engineered systems: Supercluster and Exadata system including ZFS appliance and InfiniBand Switch.

• Strong knowledge of Oracle patching procedure and requirement.

• Strong knowledge of DNS, networking and connected systems

• Understanding of system components and services SAN/NAS/iSCSI.

• Knowledge of Kernel zone, database zone and branded zones functionality

PREFERRED SKILLS

o Build and configuration of server solutions including Oracle database clusters

o Configuration of hardware from Oracle, using OS versions of RedHat/Oracle Linux, Solaris 10 to 11

o Trouble-shooting and resolution of faults

o Engage with customers in software installation and Oracle support team.

o Root Cause Analysis of infrastructure related issues

o Customer liaison providing support and guidance to technology teams

o Attendance and participation on team and customer meetings

o Monitoring of infrastructure capacity

o Produce status reports as required

o Maintain team documentation and procedures

o Proficiency in shell scripting
