Java Applications Developer – 12+Month Contract Position

Softworld is seeking a technology professional with asset management industry experience to assist with new technology initiatives supporting continued business growth.

Responsibilities:

Work with business users, including Operations, Portfolio Managers and Traders, and business analysts, and assist in requirements gathering, specifications and test planning

Develop and enhance proprietary multi-tier Java applications

Develop and enhance integration technologies for external applications and data source

Qualifications:

5+ years software development experience

4+ years server Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring MVC, Spring Core

Proficiency with Angular 8+

Experience in REST based web services development using different frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot, JAX-RS)

Hands on experience working with Code Quality and Code Coverage tools/frameworks

Good knowledge of CI/CD (Jenkins, GIT and Maven), Unix/Linux, JaCoCo, FindBugs, etc.

Experience in containerizing applications using Docker and Kubernetes

Proven experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing and Azure Cloud Services (PaaS & IaaS)

Experience in Agile methodologies - SCRUM

2+ years SQL experience

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science

Front-office asset management experience helpful

Must be extremely detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work and thrive under pressure in a fast paced, mission critical environment
