Job Description:

Role       Subject Matter Expert (SME with L3 or L3+ skill set) in MSSQL Database Administration

Key Roles and responsibilities   

•             Work as SME for MSSQL DBA role.

•             Acquire knowledge and detailed understanding on customer’s Database environment.

•             Validate Scope of Work and Due Diligence of Data and identify gaps

•             Responsible for interacting with internal groups, vendors, and customers to coordinate the timely implementation of Database services

•             Work effectively on diverse type of customers from different time zones

•             Validate RLS and identify skill gaps

•             Gather required and detailed information and develop SMTD with complete understanding of customer Database environment.

•             Responsible for giving reverse knowledge transfer to BAU and getting sign-off from customer and internal stakeholders

•             Effectively articulate risks and get sign-off on SMTD, Risk Register and other technical / operational documents.

•             Propose risk mitigation plan and options. Work with the internal and external eco system to mitigate risks in good time.

•             Participate in project planning and prepare MPP.

•             Responsible for implementing best practice, hardening, Automation of BAU tasks.

•             Knowledge and ability to identify the risks on the customer Database environment & make recommendations of solutions according to the industry best practices relevant for customer landscape.

•             Change management in customer end for remote management of Databases and onboarding of Monitoring tools.

•             Self-driven and motivated individual who can lead from the front and take end to end ownership of the Oracle Database Process and Technologies for seamless transition and smooth Go Live of services from the perspective of People, Process and Technology.

Technical skills:  Should have minimum 10+ years hands on experience in terms of design, architecting and management of MSSQL Databases.

Mandatory Skills (Must Have)

Primary skills:     •             In-depth technical knowledge of MSSQL Database Administration.

•             MSSQL Database administration MSSQL 2000- 2017

•             Handling Large database (OLTP) in TB’s

•             Proficient with SQL server Tools, including SSMS, Query Analyzer, Agent, SSAS, SSRS and SSIS

•             MSSQL Installation & Configuration. Alert configurations.

•             Proficient with MSSQL Maintenance like backup and recovery, Integrity, and Index maintenance

Database user and object management

•             Should have knowledge on database Patching, Migration on all SQL server versions

•             Performance tuning

•             Configure and Maintain high availabilities or DR like Logshipping, Replication, Database Mirroring and Always on

•             Experience on Automation

•             Should have ability to pro-actively identify areas of improvements and works towards a better delivery of the projects

•             Excellent communication and inter-personal skills

Secondary Skills at least L2 or L2+ (Good to have)              •             Knowledge on Oracle database management and administration or Open source database management and administration.

•             Knowledge on  Azure and Open source databases such as  MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB

•             Database management ,User administration, performance tuning, migration, patching

•             Experience working with Databases on the Cloud (AWS/GCP)

•             Knowledge in PowerShell scripting
