Job Description

• Implement data warehouse solutions using Azure DW stack and Power BI
• Drive Azure cloud data platform architectural decisions and development standards.
• Develop and deliver large-scale Azure cloud application development and transformation engagements, helping the enterprise understand cloud considerations, develop cloud application strategies and helping refactor existing applications for Azure, as well as develop new Azure-based cloud-native applications on Azure PaaS
• Work with Product Owner/Business Analysts to understand functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release features.
• Develop and maintain documentation of schemas, data flows and processes related to Azure DW
• Design and construct Data Lake ingestion and staging of corporate data sources for Analytics purposes using Azure Data Factory.
• Design and implement Data Lake lifecycle processes that support effective data provisioning capabilities to feed analytical requirements, ingest various data sources and support Machine Learning requirements.
• Design and implement ETL routines using Azure Data Factory to load transformed data into the Data Warehouse.
• Design Azure Analysis services data models with a focus on standardized data sets, calculations, and definitions to support Power BI report development by Analytics end users.
• Work closely with Power BI report creators empowering them to map reports to standardized data models that are under pinned by the Data Warehouse solution.
• Develop Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions.

Skills:
5-10 years of experience with:

• Strong hands-on experience in Azure data platform including Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake/Blob Storage. Knowledge in Azure Databricks/Spark and Cosmos DB is a plus but not essential.
• Develop robust ETL processes specifically in the Azure DW using Azure data factory pipelines, Azure functions, SQL, APIs, and industry best practices.
• Mastery of SQL, specifically MS SQL Server
• Able to properly understand the business requirements and develop data models accordingly by taking care of the resources.
• Experience configuring Data Lake on Azure Databricks/Spark.
• Experience in designing data solutions in Azure including data distributions and partitions, scalability, disaster recovery and high availability
• Experience with data migration to cloud-based environment
• Experience implementing predictive analytic models with proven business impacts.
• You have a solid understanding of cost and performance considerations and tradeoffs of different data products within Azure
• Hands on experience in developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI is a plus but not essential.
• Sound knowledge in security standards. Able to implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI.
• Python experience is a plus.
• Experience implementing Azure Stream Analytics for IOT is a plus.
• Experience with retail industry data preferred.
