Job description for Senior level role. The junior and senior level resource will be working together on the project.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Java/Spring Development experience with 4+ years of FHIR API and/or HL7 integration experience.
- Strong experience with REST web services required. Experience deploying in a cloud environment highly preferred.
- Experience with continuous integration tools like Git, Jenkins, and Bamboo
- Strong experience being the technical lead on enterprise-level systems.
- Experience with software development in health information exchange technologies in the areas of security and data exchange protocols specifically related to eHealth Exchange specifications, Carequality, CommonWell, DIRECT Applicability Statement, and IHE profiles.
- Experience with Microservices frameworks using Vert.x, Node.js, and SpringBoot.
- Development experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
- Experience with container technologies using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
- Experience with messaging technologies (JMS and AMQP)
- Front-end application development in Angular, React, or Vue is preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Experience in an Agile environment.
- Experience implementing innovative technology strategies with an emphasis on the interoperable exchange of health information.
- Experience with software development working on national-level industry standards and specification-driven initiatives. This would include HL7 standards for CDA and FHIR.
Responsibilities:
- 1. Codes, tests, debugs, and documents more-complex programs and interoperability solutions, and enhances existing programs to ensure that production systems continue to meet user needs.
- 2. Coordinates interface with user management regarding project status, direction and user needs to promote an environment of user cooperation and satisfaction.
- 3. Coordinates with the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
- 4. Identifies and resolves system operating problems in order to provide business continuity.
- 5. Leads development of high level system architecture documents and detailed design specifications to serve as a guide for system/application development.
- 6. Assists in project governance process and prioritization of work.
- 7. Leads scheduling, determining manpower requirements, and estimating costs to project completion in order to meet system interoperability requirements.
- 8. Maintains an expert-level understanding of industry application development best practices, tools, programming languages, interoperability standards, and techniques. Keeps current with new developments in the information technology industry and may lead development and implementation of organizational and departmental standards and methodologies.
- 9. Provides guidance and training to all levels of interoperability software engineers in order to improve productivity. Coordinates work teams. Provides technical support to project team members.
- 10. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of software engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. May provide consultation on a variety of complex projects and is considered to be a top-level contributor/specialist. Entrusted to exercise a wide degree of creativity and latitude in finding solutions to complex problems.
- 11. Works with external software suppliers to coordinate software integration and resolution of problems.
