A bunch of people were moved from this team to support a large digital initiative at FM Global, so that is the reason why there are openings for contractors.
This team is a platform services group- consist of a number of diff teams:

·  The first is the core infra/server and storage team (virtualization/storage)

·  There are also two application teams- one is app platform svc and the other is app platform operations- these two teams support 36 app dev teams…they build and develop things go into production- one teams work thru process and then the other is support after it happens.

·  Then the third is the Automation services team- focused on infra automation

RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS NEEDED:

·  This need is for a Development DBA.  There are 1, possibly 2 openings for this. 

·  This is a healthy combination of a Development and System DBA. 

·  Must have Strong SQL Server experience (development, troubleshooting, performance tuning)

·  Will primarily working with Powershell

·  T-SQL skills are a MUST

·  SSIS/SSRS/SSAS

·  They use Octopus deploy- that experience is nice to have---if they have anything like it (Jenkins, etc.) that’s great. 

·  Will build pipelines, so experience with a Devops approach is good.

·  They do a lot of automation- may need refreshes…when the automated process fails, could need to troubleshoot. 

·  Yaml is being used for the build process- makes changes quicker.  This is just a nice to have.

·  Working close with dev teams using agile methodology- supporting sprints. 

·  There are homegrown and third party applications to deal with

·  Partitioning is used there- so those skills are important.

·  Will act as a liaison to do capacity planning
