Mainframe Developer
Strong Mainframe resource with hands on working experience in COBOL/JCL. Resource will need to understand legacy code written in Assembler / MF technologies and document the understanding . The document will be used as input for application re-write in distributed technologies.
Responsibilities
1. Strong technical and hands on knowledge in Mainframes - specifically Assembler skillset.
2. Life Insurance domain knowledge is a required; Need ability to understand and translate the business rules for Life Insurance specific context
3. Ability to analyze / understand current business functionality via Assembler code walkthrough
4. Ability to clearly document the current business rules from the Assembler code
5. Ability to work with customer SMEs to get a deeper understanding of business context by asking right questions
6. Working experience in UFO, Quickjobs and COBOL / JCL
7. Experience with Ctrl M jobs, scheduling, common issues, troubleshooting, defect fixing
8. Good relationship management skills to act as liaison between IT and business teams
9. Ability to front end client meetings - Design / Architecture and solution review meetings
10. Responsible for production support/maintenance/ enhancements of business applications
11. Ability to triage, troubleshoot, fix and test production issues within short timelines
12. Good understanding of Service management process – Change, Release, Incident and Problem management
