Please note that while these have a testing piece to it – the SDETs at this client function quite similar to a Backend Software Engineer that is able to develop code. 

They must be able to do the UNIT testing and have some understanding of automated tested.  

This is not a TESTER that is now an SDET. Again, a backend engineer will be a better fit – please do not send a QA Tester that is now an SDET. 

The manager is looking for more recent and hands-on development skills. They need someone that can code from day one and help with growing their automated testing suite, supporting all sprint activities in a fast-paced environment, and can ramp up quickly to understand the business.

Candidates that are only familiar with automation development or are acting more as automation leads are often not strong enough for this role.

MUST HAVE SKILL SET

• Solid knowledge Java development with API and REST ful services testing
• JUNIT -Unit Testing
• Understanding of ATDD, TDD, and test automation
• Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Protractor, Git
• Solid database querying knowledge. Preference for MS SQL Server, Oracle a plus
• Strong Doer - Must have experience working directly with management and customers.
• Self-driven technical background is important along with hands-on-experience.
