This position is for an Oracle EBS DBA (contract to hire) in support of an Optum in-house Oracle E-Business platform focused on the financial modules. This resource will be responsible for all aspects of Application database administration including configuration, autoconfig, product upgrades, capacity planning, backup and recovery.

1 Scrum Master, 4 engineers, 4 QEs, 1 SA
What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background, etc.)? 5+ years experience as an Oracle EBS DBA, preferably with experience upgrading from 12.1 to 12.2.4+
What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? (Please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis)
- Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products.
- Starting and Stopping the application
- Monitoring the application related products and bouncing the application when required
- Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
- Work as part of a scrum team and providing 24×7 support when required
- Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams.
- Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
- Patch Analysis, Management and Version Control.
- Performing database and application tuning and performance monitoring.
- Cloning DEV and TEST from PROD.
- Interacting with Network/OS teams on network setups and load balancer setups.

What skills/attributes are required (Please be detailed as to number of years of experience)?
- 5+ years experience as an Oracle E-Business DBA [must have experience working with Oracle E-Business platform, not just Oracle DBA experience]
- Hands-on operational expertise as an Oracle DBA, with technology including RAC, SSO, DataGuard, High Availability and Backup/Recovery.
- Expertise with Oracle EBS R12, including full life-cycle implementation experience, configuration and administration of the application.
- Expertise in performance tuning across the entire stack.
- Knowledge of Oracle maintenance/patching mechanics and EBS architecture.
- Can demonstrate history of solving complex problems across multiple modules.
