Role Description:
The BA/QA Analyst Consultant will have ownership and accountability to elicit and document functional business requirements as well as provide Quality Assurance leadership and documentation for projects and enhancements for external website. This role requires a certain level of business and technical acumen to evaluate, coordinate and create functional requirements as well as working knowledge QA test strategies that document measurable outcomes and define robust automated testing solutions. The consultant will support Client's Information Technology department and collaborate with external party partners, agency, IT Managers, Analysts, and our Marketing teams in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
BA/QA Analyst Consultant requires a good technical foundation as well as a willingness to wear several hats with a commitment to bring constant improvement to clients website. The BA/QA Analyst understands business requirements, defines tests suites, manually validates functionality, develops automated test cases and communicates effectively to ensure the high quality of projects assigned.
Consultant will:
- Responsible for defining and documenting functional requirements documents and process flows for technical deliverables
- Define and document detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test strategies using a maturity level framework supporting QA best practices, and procedures ensuring alignment with business defined acceptance criteria understanding the parameters for evaluation.
- Lead, Review and track requirements, specifications and / or technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Provide ongoing project management support.
- Act as liaison to the business throughout project lifecycle to ensure requirements, test strategies and project goals are satisfied by delivered IT software applications.
- Develops comprehensive understanding of business processes, define as-is/to-be, future state and gaps on business models and build strong working rapport with business users.
- Assist in the creation and management of script repositories used to gather test data and validate test results.
- Design and document Test Strategy for load and performance testing to identify out-of-bounds and possible customer impacting concerns.
- Demonstrate a strong emphasis on exploration, discovery and communication of software defects.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities assisting offshore team in packaging functionality for optimized test execution aligned to overall project milestones.
- Support troubleshooting defects for clients IT Team, and or 3rd party partners tracking information via log data, database data, errors and exceptions, etc. Collect metrics. Develop and distribute testing status and KPIs ensuring that QA standards are met.
- Creates and presents the project quality highlights to all project stakeholders.
- Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts for various components of the Subaru Website Redesign project including user interfaces and APIs.
- Work effectively in an Agile project environment.
- Facilitate requirements grooming and defect triage meetings to prioritize bugs with business stakeholders.
- Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs with recreation steps are well documented.
- Design, develop and execute manual and / or automation scripts using provided tools.
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing functionality or web page components.
Required Technical Skills:
- Experience writing functional requirements documentation
- Proven work experience in software quality assurance and building / delivering Test Strategies.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting.
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans.
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
