Provide support for all Oracle Databases that are managed by ITS Enterprise database administration group:
1. Support all areas of Oracle, including software installation, upgrades, patching, and database troubleshooting in an IBM AIX environment with RAC, PowerHA, ASM, Data Guard, and

ENTERPRISE MANAGER.
2. Work during off hours, to perform software installs, upgrades and apply patches, as required.
3. Work independently to troubleshoot all aspects of Oracle software installation, upgrades, patches, and performance issues.
4. Work as part of a project team to support 250 servers, 2,000+ databases, and provide 7x24 support when required.

Uses specialized software to store and organize data, which may include capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security and troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.

84+ Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

Desirable skills

1.           84 months experience administering and supporting an Oracle Database environment version 10gR2 or above.  Experience must include working with RMAN backup and recovery, installation of Oracle software and Patch Set upgrades, and working with ASM disk storage.

2.           84 months experience working with partitioned tables, indexes, and materialized views to optimize retrieval of data from multi-terabyte databases.

3.           84 months experience in administration and support of Oracle RAC and DataGuard (version 10g or above)

4.           6 months experience in the installation, administration, and support of Oracle Database 19c.

5.           36 months experience in the installation, administration, and supporting Oracle Databases version 12c.  Experience must include working with the installation of 12c Oracle                              software and applying Patch Set Updates.

6.           6 months experience installing Oracle database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure software on IBM PowerHA servers

7.           12 months experience in the administration and support of Oracle Exadata

8.           Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, or Information Technology
