JOB DETAIL

  • Write and execute automated tests using Selenium, Cucumber and Java.
  • Adhere to development coding standards and recommend continuous improvement of processes, tools and methodologies for Automation.
  • Work closely with the Development team to insure the effectiveness and quality of the components and systems developed
  • Manage test reporting, defect resolution, results analysis and metrics.
  • Ability to work under direction and resolve issues.
  • Develop system and application knowledge for higher test quality and coverage.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of automation experience.
  • Good understanding of web development and related technologies – HTML, Javascript, CSS and AJAX.
  • Selenium experience writing complex functions, components using Java similar tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Experience working in a CI / CD environment is a plus.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Familiar with source control tools like Git, BitBucket, Stash.
  • Experience with developer tools and IDEs, such as Eclipse.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • What are some things that would stand out from candidates and what are some disqualifiers? Stand-out – working with a custom automation engine to test a client-side JavaScript application. I can’t think of any immediate disqualifiers
  • What is your timeline for reviewing, interviewing and hiring a candidate? I need the role near immediately
  • What would a typical day look like in this role as far as workload? Role works in an agile environment, morning stand-up, then working with developers and product owners to produce scripts. About 5 hours a week or less of meetings. Day would be roughly 8 hours.
