- At least 8-10 years of experience managing Linux physical and virtual server instances in a datacenter environment
- Certified RHEL or SuSE Linux Administrator
- Experience using SuSE Manager is a must for server management, patch management
- Experience in deployment of new VMs, Sizing, network etc.
- Experience in patch management and upgrade for SuSE or RHEL environments
- Experience with managing and troubleshooting major issues on Linux servers
- Enabling/Disabling access control or AD related LDAP authentication on Linux
- Experience managing underlying Hyper-V instances on VMWare or Nutanix platforms
- Experience with yum, npm, yaml, shell and other scripting technologies
- Experience in creating, deploying and managing SuSE EC2 instances on AWS
- Experience with Native deployment and monitoring tools on AWS for SuSE EC2 clusters or AMIs.
- Deep understanding of nuances associated with Linux implementation
- Strong Written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of ITIL process such as incident management, change management etc.
- Ability to discuss credentials, install a product, troubleshoot permission issues, discuss and trouble shoot network connectivity with network engineers
- Specialist on deploying various custom applications on Linux servers
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- ITIL and SuSE certified
- Experience with WMI, SSH, SNMP, PowerShell, REST, SOAP, and JavaScript.
- Experience integrating with tools to federate data into the CMDB
- Knowledge in project/execution tracking
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Applicable knowledge of the domains like CPG.
