The SQL Server DBA contractor will work with internal development teams across multiple business units to assist bringing up new database environments (development, test, staging and production), in virtual machines in various data centers, and AWS RDS SQL Server. This role also involves migrating older databases into newer ones, and migration from one data center to another. The DBA will also serve a support role for performance tuning, general advice on best practices to development teams, and follow and/or enhance existing internal standard operational procedures.

• SQL Server DBA with 10+ years of experience in a large environment including mission critical databases
• Experience with multiple database versions 2008 and higher
• Experience with log shipping and AlwaysOn Availability Groups
• Experience with security and networking concepts, including Active Directory and SSL
• Able to troubleshoot database performance problems and work with performance counters and advanced indexing concepts
• Experience with AWS RDS SQL Server is a plus
• Strong communication acumen 
• SQL Server certification preferred even if not current (MCDBA, MCSA...)
