Senior Sybase & MySQL DBA with a minimum of 7 or more years of excellent hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities and Technology Experience:
Minimum 7 years experience as a production Sybase DBA
Familiarity with Sybase directconnect for Oracle
Familiarity with Shell Scripting
• Experience with Sybase 15 /16 including replication
• Knowledge of MySQL, Postgress and/or Oracle RDBMS is a plus 
• Experience with Linux, Solaris, and/or UNIX • Must be highly organized with ability to work well under pressure; sensitive to risk and controls 
• Reviews and enhances existing Sybase /SQL code to improve performance and ensure application meets industry-standard specifications. 
• Plan and design database changes necessary for data conversion, tool configuration, data refresh or migration or other initiatives related to large application development project.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields

Technical Skills and Responsibilities Required:
Support Production (24X7) systems and non-prod systems
Ability to work in production support env, able to attend calls off hours, weekly on-call support
Expert in various database migration scenarios
Cloud support and migrations
Database installs, upgrades, and patching
BAU (day to day) DBA responsibilities
Capacity Planning
Provides technical support to application development teams, Application DB release changes, Backout process
Physical database design
Ability to understand application
Pro-active and active monitoring.
Troubleshooting Skills (process, scripts, commands) to quickly identify and resolve issues
Security, Audit, and security compliance
Storage technologies and Networking
Scripting (Shell, PL/SQL, Python)
Good understanding of ITIL (Release management, change management, crisis management, etc)
Strong Linux/Unix skills
Good understanding of DevOps, DB release automation for DevOps Oracle support process
