Job Title: Project Manager with Medical device development experience

Location: Walnut Creek, CA

Duration:  Long Term

This position will support Liberty PD Machines platform with dotted line to Senior Engineering Project Manger, who is the overall lead for this Machine platform.

Utilizes wide-ranging experience to lead R&D teams on development of medical devices from concept to product launch. Requires significant cross-functional coordination, excellent written and communications skills, and the ability to drive Technical, collaborative discussions and decisions with all key stakeholders.
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert to lead complex R&D projects across all phases of planning, implementation, and production readiness and support.
• Manages the efforts of resources required to successfully implement project goals and objectives within the prescribed timeframe and budget.
• Overall experience up to 15 years.
• Bachelor’s Degree required in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering; Advanced Degree desirable.
• Manages the stabilization of each implementation to include; planning, organizing, and resolving issues. Responsible for post implementation support.
• Manages task schedules and issues status reports.
o Collaborates across all the functional areas (R&D, Marketing, QA/QC, Regulatory, Clinical, Operations, Service, etc.) necessary to ensure successful project completion and delivery.
o Anticipates, identifies, documents, and manages key program risks; proposes and drives mitigation and contingency plans.
o Prepares project dashboards and communicates progress clearly across organizational boundaries and levels from individual contributor to senior executives.
o Six Sigma - DMAIC experience desirable

PMP certification desirable.
MUST HAVE - Medical device development experience.

Notes from Program Manager:

Position may start out remote, but personal will have to work onsite post Pandemic restrictions.

Position is temporary for a year for now. Position could turn into a permanent role in the future if headcount is granted and candidate is performing. For now, it is a long term contractor that could potentially get extended. Candidate will be the Engineering Project Manager. Looking for a candidate that has had project management experience within the last 5 years. Ideally candidate will have PMP Certification. Candidate will be responsible for driving changes to the design of existing platforms. Candidate will need an understanding of design control processes. Project Manager (unlike normal PMs) will own the full project from start to end, through implementation. Candidate will need to have an engineering background with understanding of manufacturing and procurement processes. Candidate must be able to drive into the office on day 1 to obtain the computer and do some training and then work remotely after that. Currently, this position will be required to be in the office (timeline for return to office and number of days not determined yet). We would consider candidates that are 4-5 hours away from the office as long as they are willing to come to the office for day 1 and then eventually relocate to come into the office when they are required once back in the office
