Position: Sr. SQL Developer
Location: NYC, NY (Remote till Covid)
Job Description:
Position Summary:
In this role you will work with the development team to build data integration solutions. This technical hands-on position requires proven development skills, excellent communication skills, problem solving ability, critical thinking, and a commitment to quality deliverables. This role will be focused primarily on developing scalable solutions to integrate data with external counterparties, system to system, and work closely with all the IT applications teams and related business areas.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Business Analysis team and users to gather, understand, and/or clarify data integration requirements
- Build solutions with counterparties including prime brokers, administrators and investors.
- Design, develop and implement solutions using Talend Integration Suite
- Design and develop custom Java components for Talend if required
- Create and maintain documentation for integration processes; source to target data mapping, operations run books, etc.
- Perform process optimization tasks, including query and stored procedure tuning, process structuring and scheduling, schema adjustments, code refinements and scaling analysis
- Perform technical problem assessment and resolution tasks
- Liaison with off-shore team
Experience Required:
Technical:
- 10+ years industry full cycle experience in integration architecture design and development in a SQL Server based environment, preferably for asset / investment management firms
- 10+ industry experience with integration tools (such as Talend) and SQL development
- Experience with consuming data from various end-points such as Flat file, Web services (SOAP/REST), databases, Excel/CSV files, Json and XML data
- Knowledge of the Java platform and experience in programming in 3GL such as Java, C#, C++ is required
- Knowledge in Data Analysis, Data Profiling, Data Management, Troubleshooting, Reverse Engineering and Performance tuning in various levels of the integration process
- Experience in SQL Server database development a plus
- Experience with Scheduling Tools such as Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler a plus
