• Excellent communication and presentation Skills.
• Must be a hands-on DevOps consultant.
Required skills:
• Excellent coding and scripting skills (Bash, Perl, Powershell, Maven, Ant)
• Working knowledge of cloud-agnostic configuration management frameworks (Ansible, Terraform, etc)
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and cluster management tools like Kubernetes
• Experience with containers such as Docker
• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD and related tools such as ADO, Jenkins, Hudson, Sonar, etc.
• Utilizes team collaboration to create innovative solutions efficiently
• Experience as a DevOps or SRE Engineer on a cross-functional agile team preferred
Responsibilities:
• Reduce Lead Time: The time from code written to entering production
• Increase Deployment Frequency: How often deploys happen
• Shorten Mean-Time-To-Recover (MTTR): How quickly can teams restore service after outages
• Lessen Change Fail Rate: What percentage of deploys result in service impairment or an outage
• Works closely with Tech Leads and developers of various teams to assess existing problems and to come up with process improvement solutions
• Designs and builds infrastructure that provide high levels of scalability, reliability, and performance, while balancing security, maintainability, and operational excellence
• Maintains and grows knowledge of platform configuration management and troubleshooting
• Actively participates in deploying application artifacts to appropriate target environments using the supported technologies and infrastructure
• Surveys developers and technical members of the organization to understand their main pain points in the coding and development process
• Collaborates with the rest of DevOps team to deliver consistent and holistic solution to the organization
• Improve operational efficiency through automation and deployment or development of new tools
• Mentors existing team members in DevOps best practices
