Charter is looking for an Oracle Database Administrator for one of our biggest telecommunication clients. This is going to be a long-term contract located in St. Louis, Missouri.
SR. ORACLE DBA REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years’ experience as Oracle DBA (12/c/19c) well-versed in installs, configuration and maintaining high availability environments
- Experience working in large environments supporting 500+ databases
- Experience working with replication technologies – GoldenGate/Data Guard
- Shifts: Person will start on 1st shift for first month then will move to 2nd shift 12pm-9pm (Mon-Fri)
SR. ORACLE DBA RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of production databases in compliance with application specifications and company policies, standards and procedures.
- Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases.
- Performs installations and configurations of grid infrastructure, databases, clients etc.
- Maintains access and security administration.
- Implements and maintains backup and recovery strategies on Database Management Systems.
- Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium to high complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data.
- Installs, configures and maintains High Availability (RAC, GoldenGate, Data Guard etc.) database solutions.
- Supports application teams and databases using Charter standard ITSM tools for Incident and Change management and Jira/Confluence.
- Expertise in using OEM as a monitoring and diagnostics tool and identifies/resolves performance issues.
- Performs capacity planning of Oracle server environment and provides recommendations to management to sustain business growth.
- Implements, maintains Disaster Recovery (DR) methodologies and creates documentation.
