Informatica Administrator plays a major role in thedesign, installation, creation, documentation, trouble shooting and enhancementof ETL (Extraction/transformation/Loading) processes.
Theideal candidate will have a solid understanding of data and ETL technologies,as well as experience in administering Custom ETL development or Commercial offthe Shelf products (Informatica).
Role responsibilities-
- OperationalWork: Responsible to manage Development, QA, UAT and Production environments.
- Performgeneral ETL administration duties. This includes Product setup, upgrades,migrations, patching, storage management, security & performance tuning.
- Participatein development, testing, and maintenance of ETL enhancements.
- Monitor testresults, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Maintain highavailability and performance for production environments.
- Responsiblefor backup, recovery and tuning of application. Root Cause Analysis on P1 P2issues on production.
Required Skills:
- ETL Tools-5 years experience with Informatica.
- Unix experience: 3 years.
- Job scheduler tools-preferably Tidal.
- Database-preferably Oracle & Sql serverexperience is required.
- Working knowledge on UNIX scripting required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (both written andverbal).
- Demonstrated experience working well with customersof varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations andcomplex environments.
Responsible for documentation:
- Defineoperational processes for Run book and SOP documentation, automating routineoperational tasks.
- Identifyopportunities for improvement, makes proposals and participates in the planningof new and enhanced technologies or services within area of expertise.
- Multi-Taskingcapabilities and ability to work on multiple environments and projects asnecessary under tighter SLAs for crunch situations.
- Create andmaintain installation documentation and architectural diagrams.
- Interfacewith different departments within the organization regarding new deployments.Monitor program execution for expected performance.
- Modifies,installs, and prepares technical documentation for system softwareapplications.
- Monitorssystems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster recoveryprocedures.
- Support ETLDevelopment Team regarding ETL platform functionality during design anddevelopment activities.
- Serve as anescalation point for ETL Developers to surface problems and inquiries requiringfurther evaluation beyond the associate’s skill level.
- Work with JobScheduling team to setup and implement ETL processes.
- Apply fixes,patches and service packs as required and provided. Implement procedures formaintenance, monitoring, backup, and recovery operations for the ETLenvironment, includes regular reporting on health and performance of the ETLenvironment and jobs.
- Accuratelytrack and manage hardware / software assets that are related to ETL. Generateperiodic license usage reports to reconcile hardware / software assets inventorydata with licensed Informatica products.
- Followdepartmental standards and guidelines.
StrategyWork:
- Research newtechnology associated with ETL administration and make recommendations.
- Standardizeenvironment & Improve standards and procedures that support the company’sETL environment needs.
- Research andrecommend optimal ETL design criteria. Research/analyze data processingfunctions, methods and procedures.
- Years of Experience: 5-7.
- Required Education:
- Bachelor’sdegree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Desired Education:
- Master'sdegree in Computer Science.
- Desired Skills:
- XML and Javaknowledge desirable.
- Corefinancial industry knowledge as pertains to data relationships a plus.
- Data modelingexperience is preferred.
? InformaticaProfessional certification preferred.
? Experience indata mining (SQL, ETL, data warehouse, etc.) and using databases in a businessenvironment with large-scale, complex datasets.
