•Ownership Scope – As an SRE, you will understand the end-to-end configuration,technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of theproduction services you own. In partnership with your Development partners, youwill have the responsibility to ensure that services are designed and deliveredto be mission critical with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance.SREs are the ultimate authority and are accountable for the end-to-endperformance and operability of the services they own.

• ServiceDesign – As the Cloud evolves; you will partner with development teams indefining and implementing improvements in service architecture, both currentand future. As an SRE, you will be an expert at articulating technicalcharacteristics of your services and the dependencies between services, andguide Development teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the AzureCloud service portfolio.

•Operations Engineering – You will understand and be able to communicate thescale, capacity, security, performance attributes and requirements of theservices you own. They are Subject Matter Experts, able to understand and communicateevery characteristic of their service stack, such as:

o Degradation and behavior under load of theservices and their dependencies
o end-to-end tuning needs, optimizing resourceutilization, as load patterns fluctuate
o Instrumentation and metrics that clearly describethe service behaviors
o Scaling requirements and patterns
o Resiliency and recoverability, ensuring thatbackup / restore and disaster recovery capabilities are implemented, tested andmaintained

•Automation – You will have a clear understanding of automation andorchestration principles, and will be eager to automate, wherever and wheneverthe possibility arises, while simultaneously eliminating technical debt.Automation must be part of your DNA.

•Technical Experts - As service owner, you are the ultimate escalation point forcomplex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as SOPs for Level1staff. You will usually get called in during major incidents as an SME, whenthe source of a problem is unclear. You will have the deep understanding ofservice topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues anddefine mitigations.

• Broad Interests - SREs are a raremix of sysadmins and development Engineers, and as such have the ability tounderstand and explain the effect of product architecture decisions on theability to run as distributed systems. They are driven by professionalcuriosity and a desire to develop deep understanding of their services and thetechnologies they depend upon.

What You Need to Have
• BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalentKnowledge of:
• Scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, etc.
• DevOps toolchain
• Cloud computing patterns
• IT Security and compliance
• Methodical approach to troubleshooting complexproblems
• REST APIs
• Load balancing technologies
• Proficiency working with algorithms, datastructures and production troubleshooting.
• Expertise in problem solving and analyzing globalscale distributed systems.
• Engineering solutions to design, build, andmaintain efficient large-scale systems is a true strategy, and a good one.Experience with:

• At least 6 years of working experience on one ofcloud Platform i.e. AWS, GCP or Azure Platform. Azure exp. preferred.
• 2 Years of UNIX admin.
• Development in languages, such as C,C , Java, Python
• Databases and big data stores
• Container technologies, such as Docker
• Defining and documenting technical architecture ofcomplex and highly scalable products
• Oracle Database experience or Mongo DB is plus
• Must have Exposure to the Atlassian tool set –Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
• Experience automating platform deployment etc.
