Responsible for establishing and implementing production solutions with a focus on Employee Safety, Product Quality, Cost, and Productivity. Plans and coordinates both Sustaining and New Product Introduction activities necessary to support Production.
Development and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment including industrial robots, cameras, and lasers, programmable torque drivers, and common industrial controls: PLC’s, palm buttons, pneumatic controls, etc.
Develops and updates process documentation and operator work instructions.
Conducts direct labor studies and establishes standards on operations, set up, workstation layout, and material flow.
Reviews preliminary product designs, making recommendations to reduce costs and improve manufacturing and quality on new or existing products.
Develops detailed, complete, and accurate capital equipment studies and makes appropriate recommendations for capital expenditures.
Defines tooling and fixturing required in the manufacturing process. Performs Qualification of equipment (offsite and onsite) prior to release to production.
Processes purchase requisitions and records as required to maintain accurate department and capital budgets.
Analyzes manufacturing methods using Structured Problem-Solving techniques. Provides solution to problems following the Corrective and Preventative Action process.
Lead and contribute to Kaizen and Continuous Improvement events organizing cross functional teams.
Develops quality documents in support of PPAP activities: Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and PFMEAs.
Team members are expected to work wherever needed based on training.
Work in safe and healthy manner, strictly following all safety rules and regulations.
Maintain a neat, clean, orderly work area.
Complete company provided training.
Perform special projects as assigned
Required Skills and Experiences
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
3-5 years of Mfg. Engineering experience.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with PC's.
Microsoft Applications: Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Project
Tooling Design: CREO Modeling software, ASME Y14.5 1994 or newer
Excellent verbal and written skills required
Industrial Metrology including optical inspection
Understanding of SPC.
Strong Project Management skills.
