• 6-8 years of experience as a SQL DBA.
• Installing and configuring SQL Server Versions: MS SQL 2012, MS SQL 2016 & MS SQL 2019 (Currently we are moving towards 2019)
• SQL scripting and PowerShell
• Database setup, Table Partitioning, replication, resource governor’s setup.
• Commvault Job setup
• Spotlight alert setting and automating
• Experience working on AWS EC2 instances
• SSMA (Sql Server Migration Assistant) and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
• Communicating with application teams for their database requirements
• Providing best possible solution to build the database efficiently (Eg: Recommending Column store index etc.)
• SQL server build, configuration, clustering, applying security patches
• Work on SQL Database build.
• Work on Database migration tasks
• Automation of report generation by using Power shell
• Customize SQL inbuild functionalities as per the application team database needs (Partitions, Resource Governors, custom Jobs ..etc.)
• Automate the database maintenance actives
• Review, Implement Database changes (This Includes change process)
• Work on Database upgrade projects (Both In-place and parallel upgrade)
• Implementing data Archiving and purging solutions
• Manage user permissions (Security tasks)
• Database decommission tasks
• Onshore offshore co-ordination and hand overs
• Trouble shooting database issues (E.g.: Application connection issues to database)
• Proactive performance monitoring and tunning the query performance as per the app team requirements
• Configuring Availability groups, replication, Log shipping
• Database refresh activities from Production to lower environment
• Participate in DR exercise activities.
