Summary
The Information Management within our client maintains the core infrastructure behind their data warehouse and business intelligence environments. Their vision is to provide creative and optimal solutions to their business partners with respect to information, reporting and analytics.
They are seeking an individual with strong hands-on expertise in data modeling and data warehousing. He/she will be responsible for data related aspects in projects, such as working with business partners to understand business information usage and future roadmaps and strategy, designing and developing data models, partnering with ETL and report developers to create and test solutions, and implementing data transformation and integration.



Essential Job Functions:
•Analyze and document business data requirements and create functional/technical design documents and related documentation.
•Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical level data models (both relational and dimensional).
•Ability to drive proper level of abstraction once explicit business entities are understood.
•Take iterative approach to modeling and determine what points of the model need flex (abstraction) versus what needs explicit fixed modeling.
•Additional responsibilities include source system analysis (understanding schemas, joins), data profiling of complex, under-documented systems, and source to target mapping (Physical to Logical, Logical to Physical).
•Data transformation and integration of relational/dimensional data models.

Position Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
•Bachelors Degree from a Four (4) year College or University; or six (6) to eight (8) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•8+ years of data modeling, data warehousing, business intelligence, schema & DB experience.
•Good understanding of forward and reverse model engineering, and Data Flow Diagraming.
•Extensive experience in Oracle, MS SQL and other popular database systems
•Experience in working on conceptual, logical, and physical data models using various Data Modeling tools. Erwin preferred.
•Competent in data warehousing, metadata repository, analysis of business needs, requirements interviewing and requirements walk through, transformation of requirements into a logical and physical data- model, source-to-target mapping, database requests, etc.
•Strong background in Data Management Best Practices, Data Integration, Data Rationalization and Data Patterns.
•Strong understanding in the principles of data warehousing using Fact Tables, Dimension Tables, star schema modeling and snowflake schema modeling, Slowly changing dimensions, foreign key concepts, referential integrity.
•Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
•Strong attention to detail with respect to creating documentation and testing of solutions through query validation.
•Prior experience in the financial industry preferred.
