Role Summary

Client is looking for an individual to provide technical leadership, hands-on implementation and on-going day to day support across the Sompo International’s Linux environment (cloud and on-premise).

Role Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures, and maintains Linux operating systems
  • Identify, document, and help implement monitoring points
  • Test different sets of hardware and software configuration to achieve maximum stability and hardware efficiency
  • Monitors systems performance and ensures compliance with security standards
  • Creates hardened images
  • Help train and transfer knowledge to other engineers and operations staff
  • Analyzes and resolves problems associated with the operating system's servers, hardware, applications, and software
  • Design and document SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for system administration activities
  • Engineer a highly virtualized Linux environment to scale...focus on performance and availability
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented services.
  • Perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution
  • Maintain operating systems and associated infrastructure software inclusive of lifecycle upgrades
  • Must be able to work independently on assignments and able to be available remotely on off business hours for emergencies and/or testing

Technical Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of IT infrastructure experience, at least 5 of which needs to be working as an lead Linux Engineer
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with Red Hat, Suse and Ubuntu
  • Linux Certification
  • Cloud certification in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
  • Experience with scripting and automation; automating configuration & release of builds to Production
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Ability to work with and present solution ideas
  • Experience in leading Linux Infrastructure projects
  • Strong Analytical skills
