Role Summary
Client is looking for an individual to provide technical leadership, hands-on implementation and on-going day to day support across the Sompo International’s Linux environment (cloud and on-premise).
Role Responsibilities
- Installs, configures, and maintains Linux operating systems
- Identify, document, and help implement monitoring points
- Test different sets of hardware and software configuration to achieve maximum stability and hardware efficiency
- Monitors systems performance and ensures compliance with security standards
- Creates hardened images
- Help train and transfer knowledge to other engineers and operations staff
- Analyzes and resolves problems associated with the operating system's servers, hardware, applications, and software
- Design and document SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for system administration activities
- Engineer a highly virtualized Linux environment to scale...focus on performance and availability
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented services.
- Perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution
- Maintain operating systems and associated infrastructure software inclusive of lifecycle upgrades
- Must be able to work independently on assignments and able to be available remotely on off business hours for emergencies and/or testing
Technical Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of IT infrastructure experience, at least 5 of which needs to be working as an lead Linux Engineer
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on cloud infrastructure
- Experience with Red Hat, Suse and Ubuntu
- Linux Certification
- Cloud certification in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Experience with scripting and automation; automating configuration & release of builds to Production
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Ability to work with and present solution ideas
- Experience in leading Linux Infrastructure projects
- Strong Analytical skills
