Java, Spring Boot, AWS

This is a backend Java Engineering role that will sit in Smithfield RI. This is a very straight forward position where we are looking for someone with strong Java 8, Spring Boot, and WebService development experience. Angular experience is a big Plus.

Must Have Skills:

5+ years of development experience (currently hands on) in Java 7 or 8, Web Services (SOAP/REST) and configuring web containers.

Good knowledge of standard methodologies related to end to end API Management such as API Gateways, Observability, Caching Strategies, Resiliency techniques etc. Apigee experience a plus.

Strong experience with service-oriented architecture, and REST

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

5+ years of development experience (currently hands on) in Java 7 or 8, Web Services (SOAP/REST) and configuring web containers.

Strong software development skills and experience using Java and web application technologies in a service-oriented architecture

Strong analysis skills with mapping legacy constructs to modern, domain based API contracts

Good hands on knowledge with writing good API Contracts using Swagger 2.0 or OpenAPI 3.0 specifications

Experience with security concepts and methodologies including RBAC, OAUTH and KMAAS.

Good knowledge of standard methodologies related to end to end API Management such as API Gateways, Observability, Caching Strategies, Resiliency techniques etc. Apigee experience a plus.

Proven experience with Test Driven Development, using JUnit and frameworks

Proven expertise in Server-Side technologies like Java/JavaEE and Node.js.

Strong experience with service-oriented architecture, and REST

Familiarity with application build and deploy using Continuous Integration/ Deployment (CI/CD) tools -- Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy, etc. and Log aggregation tools like Splunk.

Familiarity with SQL queries, JDBC Drivers within a varied database environments.

Leadership: Team player, self-starter, collaborative, innovative, eager to learn every day.

1+ year experience working in Agile Scrum development.

Understanding of docker, cloud-computing / cloud service providers (e.g. AWS or azure) will be a plus

Responsibilities:

Drive analysis and planning for API delivery on our new Apigee platform

Drive, develop and test RESTful API integration across multiple Brokerage applications

Drive metrics collection, measurements and KPIs for API delivery and adoption

Assist in coordinating multiple development work streams through integration and ensure architecture is scalable and extensible.

Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing using Open Source frameworks.

Provide mentorship to junior team members.

Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
