Client is looking for a highly energetic and collaborative Java Full Stack Developer with experience building enterprise solutions on web / cloud platforms. As a Java Full Stack Developer, the candidate will be responsible for creating web applications to deploy that thrive on strong architecture, while supplementing with data-driven applications that optimize site functionality throughout the lifecycle of each project. As a Full Stack Developer, the candidate should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. The developer will be responsible for participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle in the Digital Technologies organization for a leading Retailer in the United States. The ideal candidate is expected to be experienced in the web development space, specifically using traditional and new and emerging technologies. The candidate should have good experience leading web application teams. The candidate should be a proven self-starter with demonstrated ability to make decisions and accept responsibility and risk. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with domain experts and IT leadership team is key to be successful in this role.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Java Full Stack Developer, you will

• Concepting, creating and building web applications alongside our graphic design team, including taking designer wireframes and turning them into effective code.

• Design client-side and server-side architecture.

• Working through the website development lifecycle to launch.

• Designing user-based interactions through effective front-end architecture framework

• Developing functional databases, applications and servers to support our websites on the back end

• Coding for various platforms to ensure functionality across multiple channels

• Developing and designing RESTful services and APIs

• Create and perform unit tests, as well as resolve and retest any defects identified.

• Determining application responsiveness for consumers

• Develop and perform system testing and fix defects identified during testing and re-execute unit tests to validate results.

• Define and enforce application coding standards and best practices.

• Identify and resolve technical and process impediments preventing delivery teams from meeting delivery commitments.

• Align and collaborate with architects, other team leads, and IT leadership to develop technical architectural runways supporting upcoming features and capabilities.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot performance and other issues.

• Collaborate with peers, reviewing complex change and enhancement requests.

• Evaluate potential changes and enhancements for objectives, scope and impact.

• Take a proactive approach to development work, leading peers and partners to strategic technical solutions in a complex IT environment.

• Document functional/technical requirements and design based on requirements or objectives.

• Mentor peers on coding standards, patterns and strategy.

• Build and maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements.

• Partner with other IT teams during integration activities to facilitate successful implementations.

• Communicate effectively with technical peers in in a clear manner, while also being able to articulate complex solutions in ways nontechnical business partners can understand.

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree or technical institute training or equivalent work experience

• Strong effective communication skills, both written and verbal

• 3+ years of hands on Java, Javascript, CSS, HTML development experience with an understanding of CSS preprocessors including Sass and LESS

• 2+ years of hands on experience in Backend development & Web development

• 5+ years combined of hands on Java/ J2EE frameworks specially Java, Ruby, PHP & Python

• Detailed knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, query, function, store procedures along with performance tuning through query optimization.

• Strong knowledge of Angular JS, Express.js, React JS, Ember and Node.js

• Experience with JS-based tools including Bower, Grunt and Gulp

• Experience consuming REST services and an understanding of Swagger specifications.

• Experience working with server technologies including Apache, ISS, Node.js, Nginx and J2EE.

• Experience in API design and development.

• Understanding of libraries including Backbone.js and jQuery

• Experience with AJAX

• Strong knowledge of data structures, system design and algorithms

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Experience in agile environment

• Great understanding with builds, software development and GIT.
