JOB DETAIL

Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues. This includes (but not limited to) a project summary, organizational impact, applications potentially impacted, identified exclusions, and other constraints risks and dependencies
Document a list of functional requirements and the as-is state
Create/capture definitions of how this will benefit the business including any backing evidence the business can provide
Ensure the project stays within scope (avoid scope creep) by collaborating with project manager and business stake holders – any requirements that are outside of scope require project manager and business approval.
Initial logical design
Create Mockups, logical diagrams, and to-be processes
Create System to system logical data mappings
Keep in mind, assess, and ensure master data considerations
Liaison
Act as a liaison between business and IT and provide clarification to questions from IT Architects and Developers as needed
Testing
Create test scenarios and test cases
Perform initial “smoke testing”
Assist business with executing test plans
Training
As appropriate, provide orientation and training to end users for systems.
General Functional/System Documentation
This role will be responsible for creating functional documentation for systems supported by IT.  This will be accomplished by meeting with both IT and business team members.This client has a wide variety of systems including both customs built as well as purchased packages.  These stretch across a wide variety of technologies (AS/400, .NET, JavaScript, SharePoint, etc.).  The ideal candidate will be both technology and methodology agonistic with the ability to change to meet the need of the situation.  Seaboard is heavily waterfall methodology based at this time and is actively taking steps towards a more agile based approach for projects.The following approaches will make this role successful:
Being helpful and keeping open communication with other team members
Being flexible with deliverables and approach when appropriate while following standards and procedures in place
Ability to stay on task and deliver results within agreed upon timelines
Maintaining focus on priorities as established by IT leadership
Communicate with project managers if dates are at risk
Address roadblocks by seeking guidance from team members as needed
Avoid scope creep when working with the business
Form professional relationships with the business and create a positive image of IT
Insulate business from IT acronyms and create solutions (communicating with the business by ‘speaking their language’)
Have a strong understanding of information processing principles and practices in one or more of the following industries:  Manufacturing, Food and Beverage, Livestock, Energy Systems & Projects:
Transportation (domestic, international)
Plant (labeling, maintenance, etc.)
Plant Procurement (boxes, packaging, etc.)
