Position Title: Automation Engineer (updated on 7/1 with JD)
• Design and develop end to end automated solutions for a wide variety of databases, data integration, business intelligence products, processes and capabilities
• Identify manual processes that can be automated
• Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing
• Determine and document technical requirements of projects to ensure that specifications are met.
• Provide out of the box and creative thinking to solve complex problems
• Work closely with platform and application engineers and architects to develop new and enhance existing automation solutions
• Work closely with Infrastructure teams during implementation of solutions
• Participate in testing and quality assurance aspects of projects
• Provide post implementation production support as needed
• Present and demo automation solutions to technical and business stakeholders
• Leverage skills to develop proof of concepts for projects and when needed utilize programming and scripting techniques for complex situations
Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Experience with Groovy/Java and HPOO is highly desired
• Development scripting experience with Python and Shell Scripting
• Experience with Pipeline development with Groovy
• Experience with Bitbucket, Jenkins, Git and CI/CD pipeline
• Experience with Chef, Terraform is an added benefit
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Extensive history designing, coding, implementing, and supporting Infrastructure/Operations-side automation solutions in a corporate environment.
• Creative problem solver with excellent diagnostic abilities.
Education, Training &/or Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
