The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) IT Services Division within the Executive Office of the Housing and Economic Development of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst with at least five years of experience to support the systems and applications used to deliver emergency rental assistance and other housing programs. Work will include front end, integration and back-end testing.
The position requires ability to work in a matrixed environment with external vendors and stakeholders outside the EOHED team. The analyst will provide expertise in the planning, constructing and execution of test scripts. Apply business and functional knowledge including testing standards, guidelines, and testing methodology to meet the team's overall test objectives. Ensure all testing results are easily accessible and understandable.
Track defects to closure and keep defect repository up-to-date.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain test plans for scalability, security, functionality, and usability for successful code deployments.
Develop test scripts, test conditions, input test data, and expected results for one or more test streams, including unit/component, assembly, product, performance, and acceptance tests.
Develop, update, and maintain testing standards and procedures.
Execute test scripts.
Record problems and issues in accordance with the project's problem and issue management plans.
Document defects using the project’s defect management tools.
Work with the application team to resolve any issues that arise out of the testing process.
Participate in the release control process (when the application is transferred from the build team to the test team) to ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
Validate product fixes.
Inform the test lead of any issues that may affect the schedule, budget, or quality of the product or the testing process.
Qualifications
Good communication skills
Detail oriented: able to document and follow detailed instructions within test scripts as well as defects tracking documents (i.e., steps to recreate the problem) Agile/Scrum development methodology exposure, as well as a strong understanding of the suitability of these methodologies for certain development environments and types of applications
Experience in the complete development lifecycle, including requirements, development, QA, UAT, and release management
Strong analysis and problem discovery and solving skills.
Understanding of version control, release processes, and deployment management.
Experience with CRM and document management platforms a plus
Experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft PowerAutomate a plus
Teamwork and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks. An ability to complete assignments as directed and on time
