JOB DETAIL

·         DPOR Database Administrator 5 - DPOR is moving into the data conversion and migration phase of their project and current team need Oracle DBA to assist with this part of the project only.

·         50% ON SITE required.

·         Database Administrator to work on data migration/data conversion phase of new licensing system project.

·         DPOR is seeking an experienced database administrator to perform Oracle to SQL database conversion and migration as a critical component of the new systems development project. Position requires comprehensive knowledge of database management systems. Involvement in the DPOR System Replacement Project will involve the following:

1) Planning: development of a plan to identify the data and application processes that will be migrated based on the business, project and technical requirements identified by DPOR and the new vendor including associated tests, automation scripts and mappings. Data cleansing through collaboration with information management staff will be required to improve data quality and eliminate redundant or obsolete information.
2) Migration: validation of hardware and software requirements and migration procedures are customized to ensure timely and accurate migration from the legacy Oracle database to the new SQL database. Pre-validation testing may be required to ensure requirements and customized settings function as expected. Oversees data extraction to ensure accurate data is read from the old system, and data loading, where data is written to the new system.
3. Post-migration: After data migration, the DBA will perform data verification to determine whether data was accurately translated, is complete, and supports processes in the new system. During verification, the DBA will work with DPOR IT staff to monitor a parallel run of both systems to identify areas of disparity and forestall erroneous data loss. Migration close-out meetings will officially end the migration process.
