JOB DETAIL

UX/UI designer skilled in design for E-Commerce websites/mobile apps. Role can be either consulting or contract to hire. C2C is ok. Hybrid schedule in NYC is preferable (remote for now) or full remote is possible. Great company and compensation!

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior UX/UI Designer is accountable for researching, developing, and executing design solutions for content, e-commerce, and marketing experiences. You are a multi-skilled innovator with strong interaction design and presentation skills. The UX/UI designer applies user-centered design best-practices and industry-leading tools to solve complex problems, working collaboratively across engineering, analytics, marketing, and editorial teams. They create and present design concepts, interactive prototypes, and produce detailed documentation to communicate macro- and micro-level features and functionality when needed. The UX/UI Designer uses user research, analytics data, and industry best practices to identify and articulate constraints quickly, proposing effective design solutions based on product requirements and user needs, as well as business strategy and KPIs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS

  • 5 + years designing experiences across multiple platforms
  • Portfolio of UX/UI Design case studies including sample deliverables at all stages of work (whiteboarding and sketching to user flows, IA diagrams, personas, and journey maps, through high fidelity wireframes and polished final prototypes)
  • Can develop simple and elegant design approaches to address complex problems
  • A keen eye for typography, color, and layout
  • Ability to collaborate actively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience maintaining and evolving shared UI component libraries and design systems 
  • Understanding of related disciplines as they pertain to user-centered design ( including data and analytics, technology, project management, etc.)
  • Experience with an iterative, Agile design process
  • Expertise in creating and documenting artifacts to support knowledge-sharing and product development
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Solid knowledge of information design principles
  • Knowledge of scalable taxonomies and metadata tagging for enterprise and ecommerce content management systems
  • Understanding of capabilities/limitations of current front-end technologies

Fluency with design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Invision, Zeplin, Adobe CS, etc.
