JOB DETAIL

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•         Assist in planning and execution of formative and summative usability studies to evaluate current and future Dexcom products

•         Analyze data and compile study findings for multidisciplinary teams of designers, engineers, and product managers across the company

•         Assist in authoring HFE documentation needed for creating Usability Engineering File for FDA and notifying body submissions

•         Conduct Task Analyses, Usability Audits, Cognitive Walkthroughs, and other formative design and evaluation methods

•         Advocate for user needs and drive design recommendations based on usability standards and best practices

•         Manage human factors activities across various projects and provide schedules and status to management

•         Review and provide feedback on product requirements and evaluate risks related to product use (risk analysis)

•         Represent Human Factors in cross functional core team meetings

 

Required Qualifications:

•         3-5 years of Human Factors experience coordinating and conducting usability testing, data analysis, and reporting of results

•         Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team

•         Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and as a presenter

•         Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical ability and intellectual curiosity

•         Ability and willingness to travel as needed (domestically and internationally), approximately 25% of the time

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•         Understanding of Human Factors processes and guidelines for the development of medical devices (e.g., FDA guidance, IEC 62366, AAMI HE75)

•         Proven track record developing and executing usability studies including creating research plan, overseeing recruitment, moderation, analysis, and creating/presenting final reports

•         Master’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Human-Centered Design, Cognitive Psychology, or related discipline preferred

 

Experience and Education Requirements:

•         Minimum of 3 years related Human Factors experience

•         Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Human-Centered Design, Cognitive Psychology, or related discipline preferred. MS strongly preferred.
