Assess and tune the MySQL based Moodle Database
Provide recommendations to optimize the performance of MySQL database, including changes in settings, schema, queries, etc.
Design a distributed database system for the Moodle MySQL database and perform the technical and development work to build this system
Database replication for scale-out
Study and provide recommendations for moving MySQL database to Postgres; perform feature and performance comparison analysis
Build a plan and design the migration from MySQL to Postgres if Postgres demonstrates higher performance and scalability than MySQL
Assist in enabling database encryption for MySQL Moodle Database
Required skills
Experience in MySQL architecture, monitoring, troubleshooting, scaling and SQL
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Good communication, teamwork and negotiation skills
Working knowledge of Postgres
Able to work to tight deadlines under pressure
Excellent organizational skills, flexibility and adaptability
