Specific responsibilities for this role include:
- Perform data warehouse design leadership, identifying the fit for purpose solutions
- Perform advanced level data modeling techniques and guide others in best practices
- Perform advanced data analysis and data profiling and mentor others as needed
- Create and maintain data catalogue and metadata in order to support and communicate data assets to stakeholders
- Develop and maintain ETL specification documentation for data integration development
- Document and decompose project needs into Agile epics and stories working with the Product Owner
- Create, manage and/or provide oversight on team estimates for technical work
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues throughout data warehouse environment – security, data issues
- Drive continuous improvement of process, methods, technologies and services
- Collaborate with software engineering and business teams to identify dependencies, data flows, assist with testing and overall cohesive of solutions in the environment
- Spearhead the development of enterprise standards and guidelines for data modelling and promote across peer group
- Bachelor’s Degree in the field of computer science, management information systems, or computer engineering
- 8 years of experience in a combination of data management and enterprise data warehouse data modeling and architecture roles
- 8 years of experience in data modeling, meta-data modeling, database design, schema design and/or information architecture practices
- Significant experience with hands on data analysis and related tools, including strong SQL
- Proficiency with navigating Oracle DBMS, including schema builds
- Significant experience implementing enterprise data warehouse and BI solutions
- Significant experience in data requirements gathering and facilitation of business data definitions
- Demonstrated knowledge of ETL processing and proficiency with writing and delivering ETL design specifications
- Experience leading others including ETL engineers, Data Modelers and other colleagues involved in overall solution dependencies, workflow and scheduling of data dependent jobs
- Demonstrated knowledge of data warehouse architectures and best practices
- Strong knowledge of master data, data quality and meta data management concepts and practices and the relation to data warehousing and business intelligence
- Demonstrated knowledge of BI capabilities and types of reporting
:Appropriate industry certifications, including CDMP or CBIP with a data management or data modeling specialization
- Experience with related information management disciplines (e.g. data quality management, metadata management, data governance)
- Experience with data engineering for Data lakes and Hadoop technologies
- Experience with high volume data processing
