JOB DETAIL

We are looking for a competent Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. As the DBA the person will be responsible for system analysis, design, database development, and implementation based on business needs. The DBA will perform requirements analysis, full life-cycle development of server and client software, perform unit testing, and create documentation as well as will interpret project requirements and implement the database according to the client’s specifications.

The person will reverse engineer and troubleshoot complex legacy application architecture from documentation and requirements baseline, if /when available. The DBA will demonstrate the ability to interface equally well with various levels of technical personnel, web portal users, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and senior level stakeholders as required..

Ø 8+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration.

Ø Deep understanding of Oracle High Availability technologies (Data Guard, Standbys, RAC), Storage level replication – EMC SRDF for DR

Ø How Oracle and the OS integrate.

Ø Third party backup tape solutions integration with Oracle software.

Ø Deep understanding of Oracle Backup and Recovery.

Ø ASM (Automated Storage Management) database administration.

Ø Deep knowledge of various operating systems on which customers run Oracle.

Ø Customer Management and database administration

Ø Technical Support for Oracle, including management of databases, listeners and other database components.

Ø Perform ongoing database administration, maintenance, performance, installation, upgrades, backup and recovery of Oracle databases.

Ø Provide on-call support as and when needed

Ø Work with customers to measure and manage service levels.

Ø Oversee the completion of projects including planning; assigning, monitoring, reviewing progress, and evaluating results.

Ø Ensure effective flow of communication between the DBA team, customers, and management.

Ø Provide assistance in understanding the technologies and related topics

Ø Answers user questions regarding environment and project planning

Ø Reviews / Modifies SQL to increase processing performance, referred to as performance tuning.

Ø Performs the essential functions of the job within a certain period based on the statement of work or client project.
