JOB DETAIL

A cloud automation engineer is a generalist that thrives as a self-starter, possesses a high degree of curiosity in solution engineering.
This role will identify areas of opportunity and will pivot quickly via timeboxed research spikes.

 Collaborate and build out automation and deployment pipelines primarily focused on the application, cloud managed services and environment
configuration. Refactor existing automation and deployment tooling to support cloud-native ephemeral environments. Identify common patterns and
opportunities for automation within the entire software lifecycle.

Skillsets Required:

5+ years of hands-on technical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (AWS/Azure are a plus)

Must have hands-on experience with Gitlab, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Jenkins, Ansible.

Demonstrated broad knowledge of approaches for reusable CI/CD pipeline stages

Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration

Implementation of immutable infrastructure with Terraform modules

Instrumentation of integrated tooling for Cloud Ops (alerting, monitoring, metrics, logging, etc.)

Strong scripting experience (python, powershell, go, bash)

Automation of scheduled tasks and jobs in Windows/Linux OS

 Your Day to Day Essential Duties 

  • Focused on repeatability and incremental value in automation
  • Develop modular infrastructure-as-code for cloud platform services
  • Streamline the software delivery and release management processes using emergent cloud-native technologies
  • Thriving in a fast-paced agile data-driven culture and help drive the team forward
  • Automating the deployment and maintenance of applications in a polyglot hybrid-cloud platform
  • Integrate a robust and flexible toolchain
  • Integrate static analysis tools in build pipeline (security, code quality)
  • Participate in engineering schema-based database deployment capability
  • Implement canary, blue/green, and feature-flag strategies for software delivery throughout the stack.
  • Incorporate cloud infrastructure and configuration validation and policy-as-code automation into pipeline stages
